NJBA Meet at Bruce Ringier's April 2004

On April 24th Bruce Ringier hosted a meet at his forge in Wantage, NJ. The event atarted offf with Andy Dohner forging a faceted ball out of 2" square under Bruces' Fairbanks power hammer. Dick Sargent demonstrated a tapering tool that attaches around the die of the power hammer and draw a taper on a piece of 3/4"square. Lunch was a BBQ with varied salads followed by a iron in the hat and an auction of an Auto darkening welding helmet donated by Ernie from AIR GAS. The winning bid was by Bruce Ringier for $95. Tom Ryan demonstrated Die tools and their use under the hammer and then forged a 1 3/4" bar under the Bradley power hammer. He then talked about a job he is currently bidding on showing the progression of architectural drawings and discussing the shop to client/ designer interaction and the importance of specific details in the contracts. Andy Dohner finished the days demo with a tapered scroll and a talk on joinery.
